I have placed this blog in the health category "Mental Health" What happened in Colorado could happen anywhere not just the United States. In Canada the cries go out for GUN CONTROL. In the USA the cries go out for EASIER ACCESS TO GUNS TO PROTECT MY FAMILY and of course the little kid often finds the loaded gun and plays cops and robbers. Evidence of this craziness or should I say mental problem is that guns sales in Colorado have just jumped 43% Homer Simpson mentality DUH??? or should I say DOH!!!

Now don't get me wrong, Americans are one of the friendliest nations on earth. The cop was probably upset that he could not carry his gu in Canada and was waiting for an incident to happen. From what I understand, the two Calgarians had a couple of complimentary passes to the Stampede and spotted the two American tourists and American tourists are easy to spot jsut as Canadian tourists visiting America are easy to spot. Now the city of Calgary had 11 murders last year which is 4 more than Kalamazoo with 7, but the population of Calgary is 1.1 million while the population of Kalamazoo is 72,000.

Further to my comments, the Kangaroo from Kalamazoo aka. police officer Walt Walwra in his letter to the editor of The Calgary Herald about taking a stroll in a Calgary park and by the way not a downtown park but a large prairie like open park "We were approached by two young men in broad daylight on a paved trail asking if they had been to the Stampede yet?. We ignored them.The two moved closer,"Hey have you been to the Stampede yet?" The American police officer and iI use the word officer very loosely, said " I quickly moved between the two men and my wife.replying, gentlemen, I have no need to talk with you.goodbye""They looked bewildered and we walked past them"Wawra writes that he supects that "the men did not have good intentions" when they approached the couple"in such an aggressive.disrespectful and menacing matter" I thank THE LORD JESUS CHRIST they did not pull a weapon of some sort,but concluded that it was in their best interest to leave us alone. He went on to ask the newspaper why citizens are not allowed to protect themselves "in life or death situations?" This is a great paradox for me as I thank the LORD JESUS CHRIST THAT OFFICER (shoot first and ask questions later) WAWRA WAS NOT CARRYING A GUN. I guess Canadians and Americans have different cultures and different values.

Here is one for the record. An American cop from Kalamazoo Michigan was upset while visiting Calgary when two young people trying to be friendly as Canadians are struck up a conversation and asked if he and his wife had been to the stampede. He did not answer so they repeated the question He walked away and later remarked that he wished he was armed so he could pull a gun on them and was further upset that he was not allowed to carry a gun in Canada which looks like it was a damned good thing or there would be two dead innocent young people guilty of only trying to be friendly . Seems to me that American police are as scary as the criminals.

It is sad that the recent shootings took place at a Sikhh Temple. These people for the most part are outstanding citizens,very entrepreneurial and unlikely to be found on the welfare rolls. I know them well, have visited their temples and the temple kitchen will serve up a meal even to an enemy, in fact I believe they are obligated to, according to their faith.These immigrants have not been a burden to our society. They contributte to it. That is my opinion

I see just now multiple shootings at a Sikhh Temple in Wisconsin. Oh well We must not tamper with a constitutional right. When I watch TV and see a bunch of hillbillies shooting fish with shotguns, it is no wonder the nation is going to hell in a handbasket. God help us. I thought the guy running for president that wears church issue undergarments, might be of help but he supports the right to mbear arms as well. Expect more mental instability as our economic situation gets more precarious. People who are hungry, find there lives hopeless, (no job, no future) may snap and lash out. Here in Canada I have to think that part of the problem is our lax immigration policy that attracts refugees from many countries.
Far too many criminals are slipping in and acquiring guns illegally. While it is true that "guns don't kill people" a deranged and determined murderer can also use other weapons. The balance would seem to be "SEVERE PENALTIES" for mere possesion of a handgun without documentation and jail time for any intimidation or threat of using any weapon against another individual or institution.

In Canada, We have problems with guns as well in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver with illegal hand guns mostly with gangs involved in the drug trade. Guess where they get these guns? Answer : In the GOOD OLD BiBLE THUMPING US of A.

Latest bit of information is that he "mailed" a notebook with his "plans". Stick-figure drawings of ppl getting shot. Right out of a movie! hah!
Whats curious is that this notebook was supposedly sitting in the mailroom, unopened, since July 12th or something. Allegations that the University denies. How convenient that these pre-meditated plans show up after the fact.
More "ammo" for the Administrations gun control laws.

Agree that assault rifles have no place in the hands of civilians. I think the Clinton Administration banned assault rifles.
But, does anybody find it suspicious that a guy that premeditated his attacks carefully for over 2 months still has no clear motive? Or that a guy working part time at MCDs would save $20K to buy tactical gear? What about the fact that this guy has no prior criminal history and is academically accomplished. That he was surrounded by neuroscientists? He just decides to go balls to the wall with no motive. Then submits without resistance while waiting by his car and discloses that his apartment is boobie trapped. More curious is his reaction in court. This is not the profile of a mass murderer. Something is not adding up here.

The fact that someone has a desire to purchase automatic rifles should raise alarm bells. I can't understand why anyone or any country would legalize automatic rifles for its citizens to carry.
I agree with Obama's stance on this matter (a rarity), it's just unfortunate it took a tragedy like Colorado to bring the issue back to the forefront.
Obama said "But I also believe that a lot of gun owners would agree that AK-47s belong in the hands of soldiers, not on the streets of our cities."
