Hope Springs Eternal!!

So I sat and watched the hearings on my couch

Slowly becoming a real damn grouch!

Softball questions with answers not clear

Only heightened the anxiety and fear!!

Self-important men claiming to know

how to fix the bad seeds they sow!

Just spend money and all will be right

All the problems will fade into the night!

Everyone has gathered around the trough

Help me! they stutter and cough!

Our lifestyles and bonuses are in jeopardy

We must act immediately don't you see!!

Never mind the pain of the common man

We will do this simply because we can!!

So come one and all to this sumptious Ball

We are much too important to Fall!!

Suddenly the fear and anxiety fell from my soul

As I realized they have no way from their hole!!

Hell hath no fury like an investor scorned

Soon they will know a new day has been born!!

We will arise from the ashen heap of greed

With a newfound awareness of how to succeed!
