It will be a short blog for this week as I am not feeling overly eloquent or creative.

There has been a great deal of news concerning the new release of the 3G iPhone here in the U.S. Just walking around New York today, I saw two full AT&T stores of people lined-up to purchase this new toy. It's definitely sleek and offers some very well designed capabilities...but I believe that in its current form the device will fail to be a transformative force.

With July 4th upon us, the United States is engulfed by a patriotic fervour symbolized by ritualistic sky-burning and good ol' hot dogs. Although this outward expression of nationalistic delight is reserved for special days like the 4th of July, Memorial Day, and Veteran's Day, a similar prideful phenomenon occurs every day in all the various equity markets around the world.

When we purchase any company's stock, we purchase a little piece of a company, a little piece of the chairs, the carpets, the computers, the desks, the drilling equipment, the laboratory equipment, the offices, the factories, and most importantly: the talents, skills, and capabilities of the people running the companies.

Since alternative-energy and other disruptive-innovation companies are what I follow and what I generally believe will represent the next wave of huge returns on Wall Street, you might be wondering what I'm doing as a member of this site which predominantly deals with natural resource industries?
