VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Sept. 30, 2008) - Southern Arc Minerals Inc. (TSX VENTURE:SA) is pleased to announce the granting of a exploration license (Kuasa Pertambangan "KP") to the company, through its locally-controlled Indonesian entity, over part of the Wonogiri Regency, Central Java Province (Figure 1). The KP area Karangtengah (2,399 Ha) was previously explored by the state-owned company Timak Tbk (1998-2002) under a large super KP license. The KP license issued by the Wonogiri regency is valid for twelve months and can be extended for a further 12 months as part of the General Survey conditions of the license. Another two contiguous KP applications are in process.

Historical Dutch literature (Van Bemmelen, 1949) reports evidence of skarn mineralization, along with inferred porphyry style veining in the area. Previous site visits by Southern Arc personnel noted the presence of high sulfidation veining overprinting earlier porphyry mineralizing events, somewhat analogous to the Selodong Prospect.

The Company continues to be aggressive in evaluation and if warranted acquisition of properties along the southern Sunda-Banda island arc.

On behalf of the Board of Southern Arc Minerals Inc.

Re: "I gotta have more cowbell!"

Marty,

One of the points I was trying to make is that SA shareholders have a fever, and the only prescription is more CoW bell.

Waiting for the 1st CoW to be initialed, hopefully, it will be a reality in the not too distant future.

Looking forward to PLD001 and 002 as well.

Not sure what Cowbells have to do with SA's current spot. CoW or bust !

"I gotta have more cowbell!"

Hello Battered yet Faithful Longs,

Nobody's going to ring a bell at the bottom.

Reminds me of the SNL sketch when Bruce Dickinson (Christopher Walken) was delivering the trademark line: "I gotta have more cowbell!"

http://webfeedcentral.com/2005/01/21/more-cowbell-video/

Are all of the faithful longs really wrong?

Good Luck All,

Muff

Re: Southern Arc News...If anyone cares

You are absolutely correct, Hemlock. I assume that there is something in the ground because I have an idea that management kind of knows where they are going with this. As an exploration company, their job is to explore. Having the people on board that they have allows me to assume that they would not plop down any significant amount of money if they did not think there was a very good chance that there is something in the ground that will be worthy of shareholder value.

Granted, it is speculative, but as I often said before, management is my first area of concern in the juniors market and these guys are professionals. That's why I assume they won't spend my money on a gamble without having reduced the risk considerably first.

In this business, you are only as good as your last deal. JP knows this, so in order to continue to get shareholder loyalty and find funding, he has to deliver. In this business, you don't get three strikes before you are out.

cheers,

Vwig.

Re: Southern Arc News...If anyone cares

thank you vwig, You are very right about people's patience level. It just does not exist anymore. People are paranoid and panic almost immediately. Especially in the juniors, becaues in many cases there are more retail involved.

I hope there is more to the CN deal, as you said - there must be, but I haven't seen it yet. I would like to see some solid progress in Indonesia before the Christmas break, because tax selling will be vicious this time around.

Re: Southern Arc News...If anyone cares

Vwig, Regarding the Canada Nickel deal you are making a big assumption in that there are mineable metals in the ground. The drill has to speak before we can make that assumption. If the minerals are there then I agree with you on timing. Companies need cash reserves in the meantime to be able to cash in on the opportunities as they present themselves. We will know before the end of the year whether or not SA/Canada Nickel will be in a solid financial position....... I hope. Things are moving at mind boggling speeds in the markets on a global scale. Huge market fluctuations. What I am wondering about is where is all the cash that is pulled out of the market? Where is all the cash that Governments have pumped into the system? Liquidity still seems to be a problem. At some point this cash will come from under the mattress and out of bank faults. What will happen? Hyper inflation? Massive stock market rallies? Both? Frankly I haven't a clue. Anybody care to comment?

cheers

Hemlock

Re: Southern Arc News...If anyone cares

Marty,

The CN deal worries you a bit, but as we have already mentioned, there has to be more to it. When the market experiences a downturn like this, then perhaps it is indeed the best time to be considering a deal in Nickel. I expect that may see more developments on that deal soon. We all know that the game is to buy low and sell high. Let's remember that before anything will come of this project, the price and demand for Nickel will most likely have gone back up.

Many of us here are in the markets for a short period, whereas there are juniors that require years of following and development before they reach the point where they have built value for their shareholders. People are not very patient anymore and it reflects in the markets.

Things have been moving too fast on the globalization front, and this speed of execution that has moved into all aspects of our lives has now also taken over the markets. We can get products out faster than ever nowadays. We can build a house in a week these days. Infrastructures are installed in record time. Land is required to give more than just one harvest per year these days. The speed with which things are done is simply mind-boggling these days.

I doubt that this same need for speed would not apply to the markets as well, which would mean that they will crash fast and they will also recover fast.

cheers,

Vwig

Re: No surprises here:

Let's hope that 10million o unces of gold is accurate.

Still very weary and a bit confused at the Canada Nickel purchase. In hindsight probably not a good time to invest that kind of money with what has happened to nickel and could continue to happen..
