Commodity Price Index

In this article Sy Harding reveals ominous implications declining commodity prices usually have for the stock market. Many analysts wrongly assume lower commodity prices will help the consumer and economy, but in reality a lack of demand usually spells trouble for the economy.

The CRB Index of commodity prices has had a rollercoaster couple of years. The Federal Reserve has stepped in 3 times in as many years to bail out the economy and inflate asset prices. Indications that the economy is faltering once more are examined.

The obvious assumption is that the Federal Reserve will once again have to ignite the economy with some kind of stimulus to keep it afloat.

It is this author's belief that the CRB Index shows no signs of bottoming.
