Ken Fisher is the Founder and Chairman of Fisher Investments. Bull markets typically have three phases, or three thirds. The first sees a sharp rally, while the middle plateaus; finally, a dramatic rally into the final topping period.

Ken Fisher on the Current Bull Market

Fisher, a billionaire investor believes we are entering the final third of the current bull market. His outlook on U.S. stocks and foreign markets in 2018 may be surprising to some.

First off, Fisher states concerning 2017 that,

“This year in the U.S. stock market is the annual average return of a bull market in history. It’s not above average year, people forget that.”

Fisher thinks foreign markets will soon take over from the U.S. On that note, Fisher muses,

“If I had to make a guess, I’d say this year in 2018 is stronger than 2017, but most of it should be overseas, not in America. This should be a foreign-led bull market from here.”

Fisher makes a bold statement, explaining,

“It’s taken us eight years to get to 2017, from 2009. Generally we’re just in that part that’s starting to ramp up. This bull market could easily go on, I’m not saying that it will, for another four years.”

Finally,

“And, when you get to the euphoria phase, people won’t be worrying so much about when it’s going to end.”
